Green Agro Pack Pvt. Ltd. has recognised the need to continuously adapt its process and products to reflect the changing climate and market conditions. In addition, it also has understood the need to improve upon current processes and techniques to improve quality and productivity.
   
In light of this, Green Agro has set up a full research and development department at its factory in Davangere. Apart from the laboratory facilities, 7 acres of land has been set aside for research and development. There are qualified personnel dedicated to this activity, who conduct both lab and field trials. In addition to the dedicated staff, Green Agro works with the Bangalore / Dharwad Agricultural University in various trials and research projects. The main aims of the programme are:
 
  • To improve the processes towards improved quality
  • To improve the productivity of the process
  • To improve crop protection and success rates
  • To conduct various insecticide and pesticide trials
  • To review and monitor changing atmospheric and climatic conditions and improve processes accordingly
  • To maintain year round harvests
  • To expand the product lines
 
 

The impact of this programme to the operations of the company has been tremendous, improving success rates and productivity. The effort has also meant that quality standards have significantly improved. Further, the programme has lead to successful trials for new products, particularly:

  • Bell Peppers
  • Cabbage
  • Capers
  • Asparagus
