One of GAP's major strengths is it's Outgrower Scheme, managed by the Agri-Extension Department, with 3 branch offices at strategic locations throughout Davangere.
The scheme is based on forming partnerships with the local farmers, by :
- providing seeds and fertilizers for the farmer to cultivate their land
- providing specific advice on the cultivation techniques
- monitoring the harvest of each farmer
- providing a guaranteed buy-back agreement for the entire produce.
GAP now has a long term, contract farming relationship with over 3500 farmers. 48 skilled extension staff to promote, supervise, monitor and collect the crop.
